Angelo Bozzolini

Angelo Bozzolini was born in Rome on 16/01/1973. After his graduation in 1998 in Literature and Philosophy with honours from the University of Rome “La Sapienza”, he obtained a diploma in cinematography from the Victorian College of the Arts in Melbourne.

Back in Italy in 2000 he began his career in entertainment, working on film and television sets, collaborating with various directors including Mimmo Calopreste, Michele Placido, Raffaele Mertes, Vincenzo Salemme, Renzo Martinelli. After a few years of work in the editorial board of the in-depth political program Anno Zero (2007/2011) conducted by Michele Santoro for RAI 2, he focused his professional efforts as director, author and, since 2015, also as producer.

Among other programs he has worked on the series for MTV Ballerini; in Cortesie per gli Ospiti  for Sky, on the Discovery Real Time channel; Invito a cena per Babel, Italian Season for Sky Arte writing and directing the film Io sono la Scala with Laura Morante (2016). He is co-producer, co-author, creator and director of monographs on the romantic composers Frederyck Chopin (2010), Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy (2009) and Franz Liszt (2011). In 2013 he made the documentary film The Italian Character on the National Orchestra of the Accademia di Santa Cecilia, produced by Alessandro Melazzini’s Alpenway Media Production GMBH, and presented in world premiere at the Toronto festival, finalist at the 2013 Golden Globe, Platinum Palm at the Houston Film Festival. In the musical field, he boasts meetings with some of the greatest personalities between the two centuries: Lang Lang, Martha Argerich, Valery Gergiev, Bobby Mc Ferrin, Patti Smith, Daniel Barenboim, Janine Jansen, Claudio Abbado.

All the documentary works have been screened or aired in more than 15 countries internationally, distributed by the German label Euroarts / Medici Tv. In 2015 for Aut Aut he creates, directs and produces the Ballboys format with Lorenzo Scurati, for CONI and Supertennis, with the participation of some of the most important tennis players of their time, or as in the case of Roger Federer, in the history of tennis.

The ideas and productions of formats such as A modo mio and Grande Amore for RAI 3 are recent. Aired in June 2019 is the series created in collaboration with Maestro Ezio Bosso, entitled Che Storia è la Musica and Che Storia è la musica – Christmas. The Che Storia format was conceived, co-signed and deposited by Ezio Bosso and Angelo Bozzolini, and Aut Aut still holds replication rights.

In 2018 he was scientific curator with Friederich Von Hase and Claudio Strinati of the exhibition dedicated to the classical myth of Hercules, inaugurated in October at the Reggia di Venaria and finished in May 2019. For the occasion he authored the film Ercole al cinema, screened as part of the museum exhibition. The curatorship edition was published by SKIRA in the catalog dedicated to the myth of Hercules. The production of the second season of the Grande Amore series for RAI 3 ended in March 2020, six prime-time episodes of access conducted by Carla Signoris, just in time before the pandemic locked us all at home: a miracle.

In June 2020, at the behest of the mayor of Cremona, he curated the night event Notte di Luce, for RAI 1, conducted by Monica Giandotti with Flavio Caroli, Sandro Cappelletto and Antonio Scurati.
